May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hands.

I grew up in an Irish Home! I have tons of memories of stories (superstitions) as they came to be. The do's and don'ts according to an Irish Mother. (Now that would be a good title to a book) "Don't let a black cat cross your path" "Don't ever walk under a latter" and forget what could happen if you brake a mirror!!!! In my house they were as important as the 10 Commandments. (And being Catholic you can surmise how important the Commandments were)
I can only speak for myself - but these rules are what made me stronger. They helped in keeping us on track. Maybe it was the fear - I'm not sure.
My parents also had tons of poems and rhymes and phrases. One for every situation. The one I have shared above always sticks with me, I hope you enjoy as well
Have a wonderful St. Pat's Day!!!
Everyone is Irish today!
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hands.
